My name is Dinh Xuan Tuan Anh, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in the Human Biology Program at the University of Tsukuba. Over the past three years of living and studying in Japan, I have had the opportunity to experience many aspects of Japanese culture, nature, and daily life that have left a lasting impression on me. Japan is often regarded as one of the most beautiful countries in the world. One of the most unforgettable experiences for me has been witnessing the cherry blossom season each spring. The sight of Sakura trees in full bloom, their delicate pink petals gently falling like snow, transforms the entire landscape into something almost magical. It’s not just a visual beauty—it’s a cultural moment that brings people together in parks and riversides, sharing food, laughter, and the fleeting beauty of nature.
私の名前はディン スアン ツアン アンと申します。現在、筑波大学のヒューマンバイオロジープログラムで博士課程に在籍しています。日本での生活と学びを始めてからのこの3年間、私は日本の文化、自然、そして日常生活のさまざまな側面に触れる機会を得ることができ、それらは私に深い印象を与えてきました。日本は世界で最も美しい国のひとつとして知られていますが、私にとって特に忘れがたい経験のひとつが、毎年春に訪れる桜の季節です。満開の桜の木々、そして花びらがまるで雪のように舞い落ちる様子は、風景全体をまるで幻想的な世界へと変えてしまいます。それは単なる視覚的な美しさにとどまらず、人々が公園や川辺に集い、食事や笑いを分かち合いながら、儚い自然の美を楽しむという、日本ならではの文化的なひとときなのです。

In addition to my academic experience in Japan, I was fortunate to immerse myself in a unique aspect of Japanese culture—traditional pottery making. Under the guidance of artisans, I had the opportunity to shape clay into bowls, cups, and other forms of my choosing. The process, which combined patience, precision, and creativity, gave me a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship and heritage behind Japanese ceramics. It was not only a country beyond the classroom.
日本での学術的な経験に加えて、私は幸運にも日本文化のユニークな側面である「伝統的な陶芸」に触れる機会に恵まれました。職人の方々の指導のもと、私は自分の好きな形で粘土を使って茶碗やカップなどを作る体験をしました。その工程は、忍耐、正確さ、そして創造力を必要とするものであり、日本の陶芸に込められた技と伝統に対する理解と敬意をより深めることができました。日本は、教室の外にも広がる奥深い魅力を持った国だと実感しました。

I was amazed not only by its cultural beauty but also by the variety of entertainment opportunities the country offers. Japan is renowned for its picturesque shrines, serene parks, and historic landmarks, but beyond that, it is also home to some of the world’s most exciting amusement destinations. From the magic of Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea to the thrills of Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, the country provides unforgettable experiences for people of all ages.
My time at the University of Tsukuba offered a unique chance to experience Japan’s vibrant culture and everyday life firsthand. Living and learning in such an enriching environment has not only advanced my academic pursuits but also left a lasting impression on how I see the world.
文化的な美しさに感動しただけでなく、日本が提供する多彩な娯楽の機会にも驚かされました。日本は風光明媚な神社や静かな公園、歴史的な名所で知られていますが、それだけでなく、世界でも有数の魅力的なテーマパークがある国でもあります。東京ディズニーランドやディズニーシーの魔法、大阪のユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパンのスリルなど、あらゆる世代にとって忘れられない体験を提供しています。筑波大学での時間は、日本の活気ある文化や日常生活を直接体験する貴重な機会となりました。このような充実した環境で生活し学ぶことは、私の学術的な追求を進めただけでなく、私の世界の見方にも深い影響を与えました。
