The University of Tsukuba hosted SRP Plus 2026 from August 23 to September 11, welcoming 18 international students from 9 universities across 3 countries. During the program, participants immersed themselves in hands-on research and vibrant cultural exchange on campus.
Hands-On Research Experience
Participants joined their host laboratories of choice, where they worked with cutting-edge equipment under the guidance of Tsukuba’s faculty and students. Engaging in experiments and discussions in a new environment provided the students with great inspiration and a valuable opportunity for personal and academic growth.
Experiencing Japanese Culture
Between lab sessions, students immersed themselves in Japanese traditions through tea ceremonies and Kasama pottery workshops. It was a wonderful opportunity not only to learn about Japanese culture, but also to connect and make friends with University of Tsukuba students and faculty, and staff!
Final Presentations & Farewell Celebration
The program wrapped up with student research presentations and a certificate ceremony led by Professor Matsuzaka. Afterwards, everyone celebrated at the farewell party! Between the TA-hosted bingo game and an energetic Yosakoi dance performance by Kirikiri Mai, the final day was filled with smiles, laughter, and cross-cultural friendship.
