世界へ挑む、次世代の研究者たち。
今年で17回目を迎えた「医学・生命科学の最前線 ～医学・生命科学国際学生発表会～」。海外から集まった学生たちが、日頃の研究成果を国際舞台で発表し、専門分野を超えた交流を通じて、自らの可能性に挑む場です。本年度は「Tsukuba Global Science Week（TGSW 2026）」のプログラムの一環として開催され、国際的な研究交流の場として、さらなる広がりを見せました。さらに、学長による表彰状の授与も行われ、学生たちの努力と成果を称える、例年以上に華やかで活気あふれる発表会となりました。
Taking on the World: The Next Generation of Researchers
Now in its 17th year, the Frontiers in Medicine and Life Sciences: International Student Research Presentation Sessionprovides an international platform for students to showcase their research achievements and challenge themselves on the global stage. Bringing together students from around the world, the program offers valuable opportunities to exchange ideas across disciplines, engage with diverse perspectives, and explore their potential as future researchers.
This year, the event was held as part of Tsukuba Global Science Week (TGSW 2026), further expanding its significance as a platform for international research exchange. The program also featured an award ceremony presided over by the University President, recognizing the students’ dedication and achievements. The event was more vibrant and celebratory than ever, providing an inspiring stage for the next generation of researchers.
1日目・2日目の両日にわたり、オーラルプレゼンテーションとポスタープレゼンテーションの2形式で発表が行われました。本年度は、国立台湾大学から3名の学生を迎え、国際色豊かで、より充実したプログラムとなりました。会場では、いずれの発表においても参加者から積極的に質問や意見が寄せられ、活発な質疑応答が繰り広げられました。発表者と聴講者が互いに刺激を受けながら、熱気あふれる研究交流の場となりました。
Over the two days, students delivered their presentations in two formats: oral presentations and poster presentations. This year, the program was further enriched by the participation of three students from National Taiwan University, adding an international dimension to the event.Throughout the sessions, participants actively engaged with the presenters, raising questions and sharing their perspectives. The lively discussions created an energetic atmosphere and fostered meaningful academic exchange, with presenters and audience members inspiring one another through their interactions.
また、開催中には学長も会場を訪れ、学生たちの発表に耳を傾けられました。学長が活気あふれる発表の様子を直接ご覧になったことは、発表者にとっても大きな励みとなり、貴重な経験となりました。
During the event, the University President also visited the venue and took the opportunity to listen to the students’ presentations. The President’s visit and interest in the students’ research provided great encouragement to the presenters and made the occasion an especially memorable and valuable experience for them.
ポスター発表は、十分な広さを備えたギャラリースペースを会場として実施され、開放的な空間の中、学生たちはのびのびとした様子で研究成果を発表していました。
The poster presentations were held in a spacious gallery area, providing an open and welcoming environment where students could comfortably and confidently present their research findings.
こちらの会場にも学長がお見えになり、学生一人ひとりのポスターに目を通しながら、気さくに質問を投げかけられていました。学生たちも質問に丁寧に答えるとともに、学長のコメントに興味深く頷く場面も見られ、和やかな雰囲気の中で活発な意見交換が行われました。学長と学生が直接言葉を交わす、貴重な交流の機会となりました。
The University President also visited the poster presentation venue, taking time to look at each student’s poster and ask questions in a friendly and approachable manner. The students responded thoughtfully to the questions, and some were seen nodding with interest at the President’s comments. The exchange of ideas took place in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, providing a valuable opportunity for the President and students to engage in direct conversation.
そして、2日間にわたる熱気あふれる発表も、いよいよフィナーレへ。最後を飾るのは、優秀発表者の発表と表彰式です。
And so, after two days of engaging and energetic presentations, the event reached its grand finale: the announcement of the outstanding presenters and the award ceremony.
今回の発表会では、口頭発表を対象とした「Excellent Speaker Award」と、ポスター発表を対象とした「Excellent Poster Award」が設けられました。受賞者の名前が発表されると、まずは医学プログラムの森川教授から、一人ひとりに賞が授与されました。受賞者たちの晴れやかな表情に、会場からも温かな拍手が送られます。
This year, two awards were presented: the Excellent Speaker Award for outstanding oral presentations and the Excellent Poster Award for outstanding poster presentations. As the award recipients were announced, Professor Morikawa of the Medical Sciences Program presented each winner with their award. Their delighted expressions were met with warm applause from the audience.
最後は参加者全員で記念撮影。緊張感のあった発表の場面とはまた違い、ホッとした様子の参加者たちは、2日間のプログラムを締めくくりました。
The event concluded with a group photo of all participants. With the excitement of the presentations behind them, everyone gathered with smiles and a sense of relief, bringing the two-day program to a warm and memorable close.
ここで終わりではありません。一旦場所を講堂に移し、発表会のハイライトが始まります。そこから学長からのOutstanding Award 授賞式がはじまりました。

ポスター発表の準備には意外な腕力も必要だということ。華やかな発表会の舞台裏には、こうした力仕事もあったのでした。今年も無事に、そして盛況のうちに開催することができました。心より感謝申し上げます。
Preparing for the poster presentations required quite a bit of muscle power, especially when setting up the display panels! Behind the scenes of this vibrant event, there was also a fair amount of heavy lifting. Thanks to everyone’s dedication and support, the event was once again successfully held and concluded on a high note. We are truly grateful to all who made it possible.
